Good Nutrition is essential to the learning process, therefore we encourage all students to eat well balanced meals at home as well as at school.  Students who eat at any of the Laconia schools are provided meals that are nutritionally sound, and meet or exceed the requirements established by the USDA's Enhanced Food Based Meal Pattern.

Applications for free or reduced price meals are available for any family who wishes to apply.  They are sent to each household at the beginning of the school year and available year round in each of the school nurses' offices and cafeterias.  Applications are available in several languages by clicking on the "Information" then "Download Meal Application"  links at the top of our home page.  These applications are in Adobe Acrobat  format   You may apply at any time, and are encouraged to do so.  If your child received a benefit last year, they are entitled to the same benefit for the first 30 school days of the new year, or until a new application is submitted.  If you qualify for free meals but choose to send lunch from home and only get milk at school,  by regulation the milk is not free; it must be purchased for the regular price of $.40.   Students having special dietary needs and requiring meal modifications must have their physician complete a Special Diet Order.  These are available in the nurse's office or by clicking HERE.

The Laconia School District uses a point of sale system called Meal Time.  This system allows you to add money to your child's meal account for use at any time in the future. You may make online payment to your child's account by clicking HERE.  Low and negative balance statements are sent home weekly.  Please DO NOT ALLOW your child's account to become negative.  

In the elementary schools, we have provided a meal envelope for your convenience and security.  Checks are welcome and should be made payable to "Laconia School Food Service",  NOT the specific school your child attends.  Please note, however, that in the event of a check returned for insufficient funds, the City of Laconia imposes a $25 fee per occurrence.
